Native OpenAI Integration to Flatlogic AI Engineer

Following community voting in our Discord channel, Flatlogic AI Engineer now ships with a native integration to OpenAI models. 

Native OpenAI integration enables a Flatlogic AI Engineer to invoke GPT models from any part of your app without requiring additional SDKs. Tell the editor what you want – whether it’s auto-generating witty greetings, spinning up a fully-functional chatbot, creating nicknames during signup, or any other generative task, and the Flatlogic AI Engineer writes the code, connects the API, and ships the feature in one step.

Basic workflow

1. First, share your OpenAI key with the editor, for example: “Use my OpenAI key for future edits.” See instructions on obtaining your OpenAI key. Don’t forget to save your changes by clicking the Save button.

2. In the editor chat panel, describe the change – for example: “Let’s create a separate page for the GPT chat.”

3. Review the plan and ask the AI Engineer to do it.
4. Review the result.

What’s next

The Flatlogic team is currently validating the following additions:

• Community Edition (open source) – a free version on GitHub with core features and a simplified license.
• Bootstrap‑based theming – global Sass variables for rapid white‑labelling.
• Public‑facing pages – native CRUD pages for storefronts, blogs, and listings.
• Stripe payments – built‑in endpoints and webhooks for subscriptions and one‑time charges.
• Mobile apps (React Native) – use the generated backend as the data layer for native iOS / Android clients.
